Bridging the Gap: Community Event Aims to Strengthen the Path from School to Work

Taylor, Texas — The Taylor Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Taylor Independent School District and Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area, invites business leaders to attend “Bridging the Gap,” a collaborative event focused on strengthening the connection between education and the workforce.

The event will take place on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Taylor High School (355 FM 973, Taylor, TX 76574).

“Bridging the Gap” will provide an opportunity for attendees to learn how they can play a role in preparing students for future careers while strengthening the region’s talent pipeline. Through conversation and collaboration, local businesses and industry leaders will explore ways to better align workforce needs with educational opportunities.

Participants will gain insight into how mentorship, internships, partnerships, and industry involvement can help students transition successfully from the classroom to the workplace.

“This event is about bringing our community together to support the future workforce of Taylor,” said Tia Rae Stone, President and CEO of the Taylor Chamber of Commerce. “When local businesses, schools, and workforce partners collaborate, we create real opportunities for students while strengthening our local economy.”

Business people interested in learning how their knowledge, experience, and involvement can make a difference are encouraged to attend.
