Administrative Assistant - Part time

Position Title: Part-time Administrative Assistant
Compensation: $18 per hour for up to 20 hours per week

Reports to: President & C.E.O.

Summary of Position:

The Administrative Assistant is an essential role at the Chamber enabling a smooth operation of the office and effective communication with the membership and office visitors.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs reception duties in an efficient, professional, and courteous manner.

  • Handles all office-related tasks including answering the phone, greeting walk-ins, mailing information, updating general information for volunteers.

  • Assists with daily errands including, but not limited to, mail delivery/pick up and banking deposits.

  • Organizes and restocks information at visitor center and local businesses.

  • Maintains a clean office environment.

  • Advocates the sales of Chamber memberships and sponsor opportunities.

  • Assists in creating and posting of communications including, but not limited to, the weekly electronic newsletter, newspaper articles, website updates and social media posts.

  • Tracks statistics for volunteers, board members and other reporting.

  • Oversees the general inbox “info@” and manages the email there efficiently and effectively.

  • Manages membership information in client database.

  • Performs data entry for AR/AP as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 
 

Position Requirements:

The Administrative Assistant must be self-motivated, courteous, and a team player. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Must be able to regularly move and lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and lift up to 40 pounds. Knowledge of database management, spreadsheet development and what the Chamber is/does are desirable. A minimum of two years working with the general public is required.
 
Job is 20 hours per week with some early morning, evening and weekend events.
