Opportunities expand in WilCo
Learn about the impact that Taylor's growth is having on the rest of Williamson County when Dave Porter speaks at the Chambers luncheon on Monday, Oct. 16.Porter is the Executive Director of the Williamson County Economic Development Partnership, role he has been in since last October. From 2004 to 2014, he served as senior vice president of economic development for the Austin Chamber of Commerce and developed Opportunity Austin, a regional effort to grow and diversify the Central Texas economy. He also served as the senior vice president for business development for the Orlando Economic Partnership.
Founded in 2014, the WilCo EDP was created as a partnership between Williamson County and city economic development leaders to market and promote economic development in Williamson County. Its board of directors are made up of representatives from each of the contributing governmental entities including Williamson County, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Jarrell, Leander, Liberty Hill, Round Rock and Taylor.
The luncheon begins at 11:45 a.m. at the Taylor Mansion, 2109 E. 4th St. Reservations are needed by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11 and are available at www.taylorchamber.org. Admission is $20 for Chamber members and $25 for non-members.
